In the event the principal recipient fails to enroll for MS II (sophomore) for the academic year for which the award is made or a semester thereof, the unused portion of the scholarship shall go to the first alternate, or to the second alternate if the principal recipient and the first alternate both fail to enroll. 6.) The remaining 16% of the net income from the principal amount of the scholarship fund shall be used for the purpose of purchasing and presenting a suitable award to the Most Outstanding Cadet at St. Mary’s University during his four years of ROTC training. The selection of the MS IV Cadet shall be made by the Professor of Military Science under criteria established by him. 7.) Should there be any profit from investment of the scholarship fund or any undistributed income, the same is to be accumulated and added to the fund for reinvestment. 8.) If at any future time and for whatsoever reason the ROTC training program is discontinued at St. Mary’s University, St. Mary’s University shall use the net income from the principal amount of the scholarship fund to establish a scholarship to an outstanding male student in the Freshman class to be selected by the President of the University.
