The Jaime Arteaga Scholarship Fund

To provide scholarships to students who are residents of Mexico, majoring in Economics, and meet the following requirements: 1.) Recipients shall be residents of Mexico. Should no students from Mexico meet the criteria, preferences will be given to students from South Texas. 2.) Open to students majoring in Economics with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 (cum laude) and have a minimum of 60 semester hours completed. 3.) Students must submit an essay and application to be considered for this scholarship. 4.) Students must demonstrate financial need as confirmed by the Financial Aid Office. Students must complete a FAFSA and residents from Mexico must complete an International Student Financial Aid Form or its successor forms. 5.) Renewable scholarship provided the recipient continues to meet all eligibility criteria. 6.) If no student is eligible for the scholarship or no application is made, then the funds will be reinvested for distribution the following semester or year. 7.) If for four consecutive semesters, an eligible recipient cannot be identified, the scholarship will devolve to a general Humanities scholarship.
